Questions About Stop Smoking, Appetite Control & Other Addictions

• How many treatments do I need?
Stop Smoking usually requires only one treatment, but some people need a second treatment which is included in the price.  Appetite Control usually requires 3-4 treatments.

• When will I notice the effects?
Most people feel a difference right away.  No cravings or withdrawal symptoms.

• Will I feel tired?
The treatment is very relaxing and you may feel a little sleepy for a few hours.

• Where do you do the laser treatments?
Mostly on the ears, hands and face.

• Is it dangerous?
No.  The laser is rated safe with no negative side effects.

• How does the laser work?
The laser is placed on the specific nerve ending points.  The laser light and stimulation helps to balance the body so you won’t feel the cravings.

• Is this treatment covered under insurance?
You can submit your receipt to your insurance provider or employer.  In some cases it is covered.

• How long have you been in business?
We have been in the Laser Business since 1998.

• What is your success rate?
Extremely high.  Usually 85-95% success rate.  Like anything else, not every form of treatment works on 100% of the people.

• Will laser interfere with my medication?
We prefer that you are not taking any photosensitive medication, pacemaker or pregnant.  Any other medication shows no interference.

• Does it hurt?
No.  It’s quite relaxing.

Frequently Asked Questions For Laser Hair Removal,
Brown Spots & Spider Veins

• Does it Hurt?
It may feel like a pick or pinch.  We apply ice to help numb the skin and take our time to ensure your comfort.

• Are there any side effects from Laser?
Laser is quite safe.  You may notice pink skin after for a few minutes to an hour.

• How many treatments do I need?
Treatments vary per service.  Usually 4-8 for hair removal, 2-5 treatments for brown spots and spider veins.

• Are these treatments covered by Health Insurance?
Unfortunately they are considered cosmetic and are not covered.

• Can I have a tan?
Yes.  Just not a fresh recent tan.  You should not tan for 1-2 weeks before and after treatments.

• Is it permanent?
We as individuals are always changing.  New hairs can grow later usually after pregnancy, menopause or from hormonal changes and medication.  If new hair grows it may only be 5-10%.  New brown spots and spider veins can appear again later as well.  We will discuss preventative methods.

• Does it work on blonde or white hair?
Laser is attracted to colour or pigmentation in the hair.  It may help reduce some hair or make the hairs finer but we can’t guarantee results.

• Does it work on dark skin?
Yes.  However not black skin.  There is too much colour or pigmentation in the skin and there is not enough contrast between the skin and hair colour for the laser to only detect hair.

• How do brown spots look after the laser treatments?
The brown spots will get darker for a few days and then will lighten up, lighter than before.  After a few treatments it should lighten until you don’t see them anymore.

• How does laser work on spider veins?
These veins are broken already.  Laser coagulates or seals the veins so no new blood flows through that small area.  In a few treatments you won’t see the veins anymore.  It’s very safe with no negative side effects.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tattoo Removal

• Does it hurt?
We properly prepare the skin so the discomfort is very mild.

• Will it damage my skin?
Usually no.  However it can remove the pigmentation (colour of the skin) in that area, leaving it a lighter colour.

• Does it blister?
Sometimes.  You may get small blisters in the treated area which may only last a few days.

• Can I put another tattoo in the same spot when I am finished my treatments?
Yes.

• How many treatments will it take?
It can take several treatments.  It really depends on the depth, ink and age of the tattoo.  Usually professional tattoos take longer to remove than a home-tattoo.  The tattoo will get lighter each session.

• How often can I do a treatment?
Depending if you have any flaking or blistering, usually every 2-4 weeks.

• Is it expensive?
It usually costs more to remove the tattoo than to put it on.  The price will be determined during a consultation.

• Is there any preparation before and after the treatment?
Yes.  You should not tan that area for a few weeks before and after treatments.  Apply sunscreen if you will be in the sun.
